Our Brief

Pro Cyclist Brendan Canty needed a brand and a fully responsive website that would appeal to fans and sponsors by showcasing relevant and up to date information on his professional life and career.

Our Solution

Brendan’s strong following on social media meant it was important to focus our design and UX decisions on ensuring it became a prominent part of the site and content. Brendans regular posts are the easiest way to keep visitors up-to-date, and act as a great way for his fanbase to easily connect with him. Using these channels also means content creation for Brendan can be easily conducted outside of the custom built CMS, making it easy for him to full leverage the content he creates through social media.

Once we agreed on a content strategy, we kicked off the designs by creating a unique logo and brand identity, along with taking custom imagery ready to build the site around.

Social Media Integrations

Brendan has an active following across many popular social media platforms. Our extensive API integration experience meant this was an easy task to aggregate his various posts into an easy to consume feed allowing his fans to follow him even if they weren’t active on those platforms themselves. It is an important consideration for a personal brand to also own their valuable content outside of those platforms, and we were happy to make it happen for Brendan.

Blog and Race Results

Brendan enjoys documenting his efforts throughout the season and gives a great insight into what it’s like as a pro cyclist on the cycling World Tour. We built a custom blog design managed through WordPress so Brendan has a fresh, unique design while ensuring the ease of management WordPress is famous for.

We also automated the collection of race results for Brendan removing the task of tedious maintenance and allowing him to focus on improving, not cataloging them during this busy race season.
