Increasing Macedon Ranges’ digital exposure to attract visitors to the region
Our Brief
Visit Macedon Ranges is a tourism website showcasing the beauty of this Victorian region. Macedon Ranges Shire Council asked us to deliver a fresh solution to an outdated, uncompelling site that failed to represent what local operators could genuinely offer visitors.
A key problem to overcome was the site’s administrative overhead. It was Visit Macedon Ranges staff’s job to keep operator listings relevant and up-to-date, a task that’s sheer magnitude resulted in stale or no content.
Our Solution
Our new website design revamped the Shire’s existing site, addressing the many issues it faced. A custom WordPress CMS solution now allows local operators to submit their own regional listings and events, removing the burden of content creation from Macedon Ranges staff, who now only need to approve new listings as they’re submitted.
Tourism operators can purchase premium listings for a yearly subscription cost to unlock additional functionality, controlled via Stripe.
A fresh new brand concept completes the site’s transformation into a dynamic local presence the Shire is proud to call its own.

We continue to work alongside Visit Macedon Ranges, developing a social and content strategy and improving the site with a host of new features and design updates. Keeping it at the forefront of the regional tourism industry.
